Our Democracy

Image
REPORIENTATION     Our Democracy One sorrowful thing about our beloved democracy is the battle of numbers. Strength and weakness has one thin line on based on numbers. It doesn't matter which group has the sense, all that we care about is the strength. You may try to vent even when you are vexed, it's just but a threat all will find time to rest. Nothing but the number remains sovereign. Is it not pathetic that the wise don't decide for us; the hungry, the poor, the helpless, the destitute, the rich, the elite, the ignorant, and many others are also involved in decision making and the election of leaders. It's not one man's business. Everyone has a right in this process. Four will say this is good for us, it is worth it, let's have it but six will say it is too good let's have something less and cheaper.  It is not in wisdom, it is a matter of strength. For wisdom to prevail in this matter, it must take numbers seriously and recruitment should be a priority ...

GREEN

Image
REPORIENTATION    GREEN   Our Motherland lies in ruins, corruption, fraud, prostitution, kidnappings, armed robbery, cultism and all sorts of dastardly acts to mention but a few. The question is, in the beginning was our Motherland like these current realities of all evil acts we are witnessing? The answer is NO. Our Motherland started as a beautiful bride being accompanied to the chamber of her lover with all precious things given her.  Today everyone of us is chanting in pains because we lost our beautiful virtues long time ago within the valleys of the evil acts earlier mentioned. However, there's still bright hope for our Motherland to become very beautiful and green again. We all need to work towards making our Motherland green once more so that we may be able to enjoy all the prosperity, joy, vitality, virtues, favor and progress that our Motherland truly stand offer to us.  Our Motherland will be green again with all good things of rule of law, religious t...

WAHALA

Image
REPORIENTATION WAHALA "Wahala no dey finish" for a country that can import her eyes. Her future goes to school to play and goes home to joke. Resources for innovation is a sheer triviality before the chairmen. Academic researches drag and are of course not too productive in the arm of financial frustration.  How do we climb up when what we enjoy doing is not the job but the pub? We enjoy the cheers of other citizens even when we do nothing. The stomach innovation soothes us better than development after all, we could all pick our teeth and take off our shirts for fresh air and what happens next is the cry for development that may not happen in the following four years. Dress up and buckle down to work Nigeria. It is about time we encouraged our products and make a comfortable environment for our entrepreneurs and their businesses. A time to make resources abound for academic researches is now. Yes it is now, to put all efforts to food production plus science and technology....

FREE

Image
REPORIENTATION  FREE YES! You could wear your shoes before your pair of trousers, even when I do mine just after. It’s nobody’s issue since your shoes can pass through the tunnels. However, it becomes a giant issue when your stance becomes a mirage and gravity laughs out loud at you. Instability becomes the chairman and displaces a neighbour, phew! The end matters more than the present, to eat hot food requires some skills and sense, get them. When one uses their freedom the way it pleases, they should never forget to engage their braking system, sweet things are not innocent of murder. A damaged mouth would enjoy a delicious meal less and probably resist tasting it at all. Be cautious! When a player ‘knows’ an umpire, surely the goodness of the transaction will follow the player and the bullet of it will remove the head of the opponent. Oh, there’s problem in the loo for the other side.  Everyone rejoices and celebrates the victory of the former but he will always be i...

Seasons

Image
REPORIENTATION   Seasons Seconds roll into minute, minutes to hour, hours to day, days to week, weeks to month, months to year, years to decade and on and on and on. As the time ticks, seasons come and seasons go. There are different seasons in life. The hot season when there is no comfort, no peace, no assurance of hope, no stability. The cold season when there is peace, direction, hope, strength and stability.  Man can not outrightly decide the season they want but can determine the outcome of each season they come into. Your disposition towards a season determines your result. It's a season in our beloved country when everything seems hot; no stability, scarcity with no assurance of hope from anywhere. It's also a season of transition of power. Our disposition towards this season of scarcity, instability should be positive with the hope that this will pass very soon as no season stays forever. We should also try to discern what is good as we make our choices in this ...

Powers, Protests and Intellectuals Strength

Image
REPORIENTATION    Powers, Protests and Intellectuals Strength Power is power, but knowledge is knowledge, a form of power but not power exactly.  Protest, physical agitations typical of fellow Nigerians, has done more harms than good. I've never gone for one before and I don't think I'll ever go due to the way we do it. I don't believe in this walking format! Oh...maybe it's because of the country I find myself in. Probably it's friendly in other places. Do we really need to subject ourselves to protest everytime?  Is protesting the true solution we need? If so, why don't we change the way we do it? Let us all leave our cities and move to the presidential city to hammer into the heads of our Heads the need to give us a working system!... I tell you, no army would be able to stop us! Can't we try our mental strength? Really? But won't the Powers silence us due to fear of ridiculing and exposing their secrets and shortcomings which can lead them to bei...

THE WORK OF THY HAND

Image
REPORIENTATION     THE WORK OF THY HAND “That's the point of working with one's hands, you see. It gives the mind something else to do besides worry.” ― Charles Todd, A Duty to the Dead Two important factors determine the growth and development of any nation. Her level of educated individuals and the number of productive laborers (skilled and unskilled) that such a nation possesses.  Diving into the giant of Africa, one can easily discover the high level of educated individuals every year but then, one will be amazed at the level of underdevelopment and poverty in the country. Nigeria is a rich fertile land blessed by God with abundant mineral resources and her people with the technical know-how to tap it. Yet her Leaders left it untouched waiting for the Messiah to come to help them tap it. It has gotten to the point where as a nation we need to start looking inward and retrace our steps to days when we truly earn the name Giant of Africa . When we were known for our lar...
