TURNING A BLIND EYE

TURNING A BLIND EYE

"To eat one's cake and still have it" is a dream that slates its arrival in a few weeks from never.

There is no better time than now that it has dawned on us that lawlessness has eaten deep into the very fabric of our society. The glacier of moral rectitude is slowly melting away. Ineptitude in leadership has bred the ground for lawlessness to go on a rampage; unchecked.

Our legislature wears a regalia of perpetual saturnine and soporific demeanor. We have come to a state where nepotism and wrongs of such ilk is only condemned when it works against us. Should the tables be turned, we turn a blind eye.

Brings back to mind the symbol for justice adopted by the judiciary - a blindfolded woman holding a sword in her hand. Which demonstrates that true justice is no respecter of persons.

... and to a better Nigeria, fairness and justice is the way!
