WE WILL NOT KEEP QUIET
REPORIENTATION
WE WILL NOT KEEP QUIET
Seconds roll into a minute,
Minutes into an hour,
Hours into a day,
Days into a week,
Weeks will soon roll into a month,
And months into a year, and it goes on and on.
Folding our arms to watch the enemy take all that is ours is not the best posture. We need to take a posture that demands accountability, protection, fairness and empathy. Words will fail me if I choose to describe our present state in terms of security and how unmoved our leaders are.
Would it be another ridiculous song of moving on and granting amnesty to the merchants of death destroying our seeds? Now that the future has been taken captive in the wilderness, what are we living for? Tell me, what are we living for? Now, tell me, who exactly can be justified in a nation that normalises grief?
Do not forget, a shot has been fired, we should all expect a recoil, screams have gone forth, echoes would soon be heard. A grave is being dug, and a nation is gradually sinking.
...and in order to avoid more images of deserted school uniforms and to redeem the sinking nation, do not normalise grief, prioritize the next generation, and keep the movement on till the sun shines again in our cloud.
