Audacity of Truth

Audacity of Truth
In a country where there is no truth, the power of lies would submerge and plunge such country into the abyss of darkness and ruthlessness. For far too much we have borne untold hardships, excruciating pains, religious intolerance, insecurities, ethnic cleansing, perversions in diverse forms among other national woes that have crippled the national economy and dragged lives of several Nigerians into the ditch of hopelessness, begging, starvation, inability to rise to desired heights financially, maritally, economically, academically etc. However, in the midst of the aforementioned chaos, challenges and problems we still need to find comfort to soothe our aching hearts. We need to tell ourselves the truth about the current situations in the country.
Many citizens want to eat from the tables of the politicians and at the same time want all the best for the progress of the country. How laughable such reality is! We have to declare the truth to ourselves about the deceptions from the sanctuaries of delusions we've plunged ourselves into. We like to sing the praises of those that are supposed to implement good and progressive policies, tenets and ideas for the betterment of the country but we have refused to do such rather we take delight in their ruthlessness and sing their praises because we want them to give us crucibles from their golden tables. Several shady practices are ongoing in various ministries, departments and agencies all to the sole grand vision of looting funds for individual nourishments rather than for the enjoyment of the populace.
Of many things we'd like to 'stone' our leaders for, we need to cross-examine ourselves as citizens if indeed we are not contributing largely to the catastrophic events that have gripped our lives. Let's find the audacity of truth to dissect the whole issues in the land and resolve to embrace the fruits thereof so as to help our situations improve or else we shall keep groping in the corridors of darkness we would have created with our sheer stubbornness and lack of self discipline.
... and for a better Nigeria, both citizens and leaders need to embrace the audacity of truth to seek the country free from all her national ills into the land of prosperity.
