It's about shedding old paradigms that no longer serve us and embracing new ideas that can weather the storms of uncertainty. This is not a Biology class, but evolution requires a mindset that goes beyond merely weathering the storms.   REPORIENTATION SEMBLANCE Why wear the coats of a servant when you know the shoes of a king is what suits you?  We appear to kneel but our hearts sits like a queen. Our voices say good morning but our faces have a firm grip on rods,  beating breath out of man on a bad morning.  We are the exact opposite of our barks.  A man who owes tax but killed a fat goat for festivity has done more harm than good. He may be crowned a saviour for providing what the mouth enjoys for the few he knows but should also be stoned for depriving the hundreds he knows not, some social amenities. Why we do what we do matters just as what we do.  We can't hide our shadows but it is not something to worry about when our location is right. Our deeds follow us whithersoever we go and we should always be mindful of why we do what we do because it is directly proportional to our actions and it is a constant in the consequences of our actions.   REPORIENTATION THE LESS One is always less in the game of victimization because both parties can't be on the same level and this happens. So, the seesaw can't be balanced; either side will make the other feel, look or live lesser. The abuser always take the higher platform.  The police usually victimize citizens because they are at an advantage. Our political leaders do what they do because of their positions. Brothers exploit their younger ones because of their age difference. Even uncles molest their nieces with strength.  The victims are made less by the one that victimizes. A damaged self-esteem does more harm than good when victimization shows up. Our self-esteem  matter, right from childhood and it should be monitored in accordance with growth. Even adults would need a good self-esteem to be free from oppressions.   REPORIENTATION KOROBAKOROBA Truth dances to the tune being played by hunger, he begs for survival while deceit has more than enough to eat. Deceit roams the world in the splendour of his flowing agbada suit while truth travels in rags. Deceit is celebrated everywhere life is found and almost none wants to resist him. Sit at home in the East. Corruption everywhere. The health sector crashing with each passing day. Tertiary institutions going on strike becoming a norm. Labour’s complaints of low pay and the legislators’ huge salaries. Unemployment on the increase. The incessant value drop of the Naira. My heart skips as the question drops “Why did these events occur in the first place?”, “What exactly went wrong?”, “Are we going to continue on this path?”, “When exactly are we going to get it right?”...

  Stand in the Gap   While it is true that we are not pleased with the current state of things in our nation, indulging in self pity and wishful thinking should not be our recourse. We may find it comforting to point fingers at certain people or systems as the culprit for our woes. But doing this proffers no solution.  Great nations are not great by mistake or mere chances; they became great through years of hardwork and consistent systemic development and education of their citizens. The power of principles is the assurance of reproducibility of results when engaged correctly and appropriately. We do not have to reinvent the wheel - we must simply engage those principles that have been tested over time, one man at a time to get the same result(s).  All it takes is one man, perhaps a few people, to stand in the gap and uphold and enforce godly and moral values such as integrity, fairness, justice, selflessness and much more.
