Some minutes will be quite enough to peruse the 26weeks if there be any progress or retrogression in our affairs.

Could it be we moved five paces forward and ten paces backwards. Or the wheels are stuck in the muds and we kept on applying muscles on the throttle. Could it be that we are more protected now than then or security doesn't even exist anymore here. I wouldn't know if our roads are safe until the day closes and no sad news is aired. Oh, every other matter must have been resolved and we are up, since the next elections is what they are running after like a ball.

Won't the never ending slayings and abductions cease?  Would some more children suffer not writing their promotional examinations? Sincerely, I know not. Maybe, may not be.

Switching from pseudo khaki to Adire, swapping national anthems and making good but not important laws are what we have chosen to pursue even for more than 6 months. Amidst this thick clouds of fear, confusion and insecurity of both lives and property, we have decided to look away. We show apparent faith in the prayers of the national anthem than Moses depended on the Ten commandments.  What should make us leave the right things to do and follow after things of negligible value and no importance? Is faith without works not long dead.

We only need to understand that everyone needs to do what their duties demand patriotically and lawfully then serve the country faithfully and righteously.

I only know that one day, just one good day, this country in its whole, in fact this continent in its entirety will receive sense.

NATIONAL EMBARASSMENT

  REPORIENTATION NATIONAL EMBARASSMENT People in their mighty callousness, do what they know how to do best, wielding the sword of corruption and making a mess of our values. Our splendour they income; the kingdom they vendor, yet  they are more catholic than the Pope and more islamic than  Mohammed (S.A.W). Partial judgements torment us like the  EFCC even monarchs show their bicep muscles in the events. Their holiness fades with the setting of the sun and the moon comes with her spotlight on their atrocities. Yet, we take no step towards cleansing; politicians do their worst and seek refuge in the party at the top where immunity resides.  Why should we keep our flag flying when stain has added a third colour to it? Should we continue to embarrass our nation before the whole world when others are raising their flags higher? EMPOWERMENT

REPORIENTATION EMPOWERMENT A knapsack sprayer, #5,000 plus free lunch is enough empowerment for a constituency: nothing empowers better than a full tummy, I guess. Our feeble hands are raised by their free lunch and in less than five hours the clouds of hunger begins to gather. After making great sacrifices to the gods, so that we may bid poverty farewell, it keeps giving us warm welcome as it awaits us even before we get home, handling us cups of chilled juice for a fresh start. Maybe the gods are too busy to pacify poverty or we are not doing the rituals well. Surely, it is the latter.  What we do is pruning. We prune poverty to create more branches rather than uproot its entirety. What many government organizations and the NGOs in this country do is no bigger than a joke, since their concealed goal is to make a name for themselves and not really to empower.
