MY AGRICULTURAL JOURNEY 1

        MY AGRICULTURAL JOURNEY 1

My first agricultural journey was one I took as led( nooooo, don't ask me who led me). It was days away from my Passing out Parade from National Service when the battle started in me,  "what will you do, thence?"

I knew not what the next step should be, obviously.

The NCCF Ekiti state conference brought me to the table with Pastor Adetunji Aribasoye a farming farmer, the great CEO of LAWRAC FARMS ADO-EKITI. Just as he was taking his part of the programme, my spirit was trumpeting, "the man is here and the  time is now." Though, I was behind the camera during the programme as one of the members of the media team, it didn't stop me from jumping out of the hall after his teaching to say, "God bless you, sir." Did I say that? I am sure I didn't, it was my prayer request I brought before him. The great man was excited to grant my prayer request of being an intern on his farm and gave me his contact address.

I never gave him peace till the Corona virus lock down was off and I left the Ise/Orun Family House.  I booked my flight to the farm...No oooo, I boarded a bus and my big brother Segun Aribasoye ( Aribs Photography) launched me to the farm via his bike.

It was after serving Nigeria, little was in my wallet because there was little to save. I wanted to serve my life by learning, I wanted to do an unpaid service. I had thought of how to manage the little I had for the first month and would wait on God for subsequent months. I met other workers there and I decided to stay in the farm house with great excitement, turning down the offer to go stay in pastor's house. I would not need transport fare, I wouldn't need to pay house rent, I would be free like a king, a great facility it was. Why should I even stay in his house when my teachers are on the farm?

The day pastor visited the farm, of course he came two or three Saturdays in a month. He gave me feeding allowance... I was overjoyed with that answered prayer. He kept supplying food, give allowance or both. What a good God!

Soonest, the second month was here and he told me he would be paying me which was the opposite of the agreement we had initially. Great was the experience, having to learn piggery, poultry farming and cucumber production with irrigation system. Oh, I remember I participated in a soilless farming training. I learnt, learnt and learnt. I learnt marketing of eggs, cucumbers, feed sacks, even litter (the remuneration of the last two dwelt in  my purse anyways).

All thanks to Mr. Segun and SOAM my mentors, motivational speakers and daddies. They took care of me. I learnt driving and riding. We toured Ekiti together, restaurants both local and classic, towns, we made music and recorded in SOAM's ministudio,  we had urgent 2k hustles. The funny part is that we spent the money gotten from our urgent 2k hustles on food in restaurants. I laugh... That year was more interesting than the service year. Yes! RCCG Wisdom place was "ghenghen." Sundays were godly and spicy! Praise God!

Omo, we praised God without end, joy unspeakable! I was also at LFC Ago-Aduloju, great was the experience.

That journey really made me love agriculture and made me a man with foresight. I left the farm after a year of learning, taking a bow out of  Ekitikete...

Await the journal of the second coming
