Who owns the Tree?
Who owns the Tree?
In a world where trees stand as abode to many great and small birds and animals, there stood the Hayogbo Tree in her glorious and majestic grace.
The Hayogbo tree stands as a giant amongst her contemporaries, in the galaxies, her star shines so bright and everyone wants to bask in its rays.
The greatness of the Hayogbo tree is so enchanting that many greats birds, insects, flies and even reptiles claims ownership of it. The goats themselves who take pleasure under the shade of the tree provides postulate that the entire tree with her branches and beautiful flowers is theirs, giving watery reasons that has no backbones.
Some even suggested that the Tree be divided and any of her parts an animal lays its hands, such an animal would be recognized as the rightful owner of only the Tree part, yet no agreement was reached, and for decades, this has caused unrest and brutal murders amongst the animals. But
Who really owns the Tree?
Nigeria is a country with many different cultures and tribes, not limited to the Ha (Hausa), Yo (Yoruba) and Gbo (Igbo). This diversity has been both a blessing and a curse for the nation, as it has led to political unrest and corruption. But who really owns the country? Is it the great politicians, the citizens or the stubborn strangers wreaking havoc in the country as if it's their Fatherland?
Who owns the country? This is a question that has been asked for decades, especially in Nigeria. With her deep-rooted tribalism and politics of corruption, Nigeria has been mired in political unrest for years. From the government to the citizens, everyone is trying to answer this question and find out who really owns the country.
The answer to this question is not in day to day protests and clamour for break away but in seeking to understand the complexities of our history and current situation better. By doing this, we can begin to find ways to overcome these issues and create a more equitable society where everyone can benefit from the country's resources.
The truth is that no one group or individual can claim ownership over the entire nation. Instead, ownership of Nigeria lies in the hands of its citizens and their representatives in government.
... and for the creation of a better future for our nation, I'll seek daily not to infuriate tribalistic feuds, but align with the government and fellow citizens to create ways to make Nigeria the country for everyone.

Tribalism is a parasite that feeds on the unity the country, its effect is like spraying glyphosate on a pasture. And for a better Nigeria, peace and unity will be my watchword.
