ACUITY - Keenness of perception

REPORIENTATION  ACUITY - Keenness of perception  Over the last couple of months, our eyes have been well fed with a plethora of dramas in our political space. Different matters that beg for attention have sprung up. Particularly, in view of the upcoming Presidential election.  It includes various discuss and tags such as "structureless party" to new and ubiquitous slogans such as "èmilókàn". The talks have been met with myriads of reactions by the populace. Some people take sides while some have resorted to a stance of ambivalence.  One thing is certain, we can start pooling the information we need to make the right judgement about all the candidates. Their silence should ring aloud like their words.  Their inaction should speak to us as much as their actions.  We should learn from the candidates who shun and avoid public interviews and debate as much as we learn from the one's who grant them.  Their rousing speeches should speak to us as much as their harangu

GRAVE TO CRADLE

REPORIENTATION GRAVE TO CRADLE It is cradle to grave that makes some sense. Ye...s, that's right. But I think little sense still dwell in "Grave to Cradle." Should we tell lies, when help comes Knocking on the door for introduction, and make a disguise of everything being fine? Lecturers have refused to impart, yet the bosses claim all is well. The elders we look up to for help are fuelling the fire since no one of theirs is involved in the ongoing. They have chosen to create more problems and "carry face." Lying is their identity and they are leading into the grave. No...we won't follow that path! How do we erect buildings on the water ways and expect to rest in peace? We throw debris both inside water channels and on the roads. The terrible ones throw it out of a moving vehicle -chai! All these are not without consequences chasing towards the grave. Yet, I believe. I surely have faith in  revolution. The last can become the best. After worst, it can only

ECHOES

ECHOES   As a man is taught the way of violence and hatred so is another man taught the way of peace and calmness." - Nelson Mandela.  Nigeria is bleeding profusely, there's no iota of doubt about this reality at all. Everything seems to be on the poor side when we critically place and review our national scorecard. All hope of a better country seems to be drained far away into an unknown land. It seems that several attempts to remedize our poor situation is not even yielding any result whatsoever but the question is; have we come to the end of national existence?  Definitely the answer is 'NO' because since 1960 that Independence has become our lot, several joyful and bitter experiences have we passed through as a country and we've never given up at all.  Let every feeble heart leap for joy, let every weak knee be straightened up. Let every confused life be consoled with the reality that the good days are nearer than before for our country. Yes, there are echoes

SAVED TO BE SAFE

Image
REPORIENTATION SAVED TO BE SAFE The safety of one is equal to the safety of all. When the minor is not safe, the major is as good as insecure. Who is the minor and who is the major, no difference exist right in the presence of insecurity.  A nation that cares less about all its citizens can never stand. When one is made less important, others will eventually be dishonourable. Point to a building that is against itself and remains standing. When very little or no plan is made for the base members of a society, the end of that society will eternally be ruins. A sane soceity would make provision for its crying members because if they are not taken care of, other members will surely be deprived of sleep. Yorubas will say, "a home is peaceful because the bastard in that home is still very young." That bastard we have refused to groom will park trucks of unrest in the front of the house. The idle ones we have left without jobs will fetch for themselves at the expense of the satis
