SHATTERING
"In a city where there is no law, there is no offense"- so the saying goes.
The pages (over a hundred and fifty ) of the Nigerian constitution is filled with laws, rules and regulations and the consequent repercussions that accompany the violation of the laws.
However, many of these laws only remain as words in black and white because hardly and seldomly are they enforced.
Everywhere we turn to, we are constantly faced with scenarios of people breaking the law and getting away with it.
The pedestrians by the road side are too impatient to use the crossover bridges. Private and commercial vehicle drivers are in such a hurry for their daily bread that they have become colour-blind to the red and yellow light on our traffic control systems.
It is a pity that this ugly habit is not only exclusive to people in the nethermost region of the political and social pyramid. It is appalling to discover that even the makers and enforcers of law contribute their own brew to this toxic mead.
In saner climes, the enforcement of law is as important if not more important than making the law itself.
To have a society that works and a country with law and order, we must ensure that adequate measures are put in place to enable the enforcement of laws.
...and to maintain law and order, I'll continue to put my best foot forward!

Yes we all must be intentional about obeying and enforcing the law.
