  On different occasions and at different times in my adventures in this world, I have lost count of the number of times many roads were patched.  It becomes laughable when one see event that is beyond crying about. Bad roads are meant to be broken and tarred all over but in my country, it is the joy of our bosses to patch. "Operation patch the patchables," is what we do even when the roads are beyond that, we still go ahead and patch as if our bosses don't go out of this fenced area. I chuckle each time I see "Think good road; Think FERMA!" Minutes of rumination made me understand the truth in the slogan on one occasion. It is actually true that when you think good road, you think FERMA(Federal Road Maintenance Agency) but when you see the supposed good road bet it is the work of foreign construction companies. My palm hosts my lower jaw after some minutes of astonishment by an atrocious event my sight witnessed. I have observed similar cases for years; a cesspool of oppression, lawlessness cum battering. It has always been a sea of fights. The incessant show of lawlessness by Associations of road workers has become a square shouldered monster. This set of people delight in causing problems on our roads as a disguise of generating revenue for the government. Did the government really send them to get tax violently from their people? I cannot forget too soon how during my stay in the great city of Ibadan the so called Taskforce of a particular commercial transport Association vandalized commercial vehicles under the shadow of the wings of refusal to pay for their tickets or not pulling up when ordered to do so by those people.
